Job Title:Respiratory Therapist - Evenings Location:Newark, DE Shift: 6PM - 6AMJob Description: We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our growing healthcare team. This role focuses on providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in a residential facility setting. Full-time candidates are preferred, with an opening for evening nightshifts (6PM - 6AM). This position offers the opportunity to work with medically fragile children who require transitional, long-term, and/or palliative care, supporting them in achieving the best possible quality of life.Key Responsibilities: Provide respiratory care and assessments to residents each shift. Participate in care planning and contribute to policy, procedure, and quality improvement initiatives. Assist with medical transports, school sessions, and play therapy activities as needed. Conduct interdisciplinary education, including mock codes and tracheostomy care training for team members and responsible parties. Deliver parent/responsible party training and assess their learning needs under supervision. Perform routine respiratory treatments, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Engage in daily interaction with residents, including conversation, play, and physical support. Participate in facility committees such as Admissions, Field Trip, and Education Committees. Qualifications: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an active and valid license in Delaware (or ability to obtain). Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records. Strong communication skills and ability to conduct oral presentations. Interest and experience in pediatric long-term care and children with special needs. Ability to interact positively and effectively with residents, families, staff, and community members.
