PHENND Fellows: School Partnerships, Health Institute Coordi The Health Institute at Hardy (HIH) is a healthcare career readiness initiative designed to expand equitable access to high-quality career pathways for Philadelphia students. Supported by a $20 million investment through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Career and Technical Education Initiative, HIH connects education, industry, and community partners to prepare students for high-wage, high-demand healthcare careers. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), through its Office of Community Impact, serves as a lead partner, advancing health equity and economic mobility by providing students in grades 7-12 with hands-on career exposure, mentorship, and industry engagement across clinical, operations, and administrative healthcare pathways. HIH builds sustainable school-industry systems that strengthen workforce pipelines and create long-term opportunities for youth facing structural barriers. Member Duties : Develop core systems, including a Partner Engagement Database, Exposure Visit Logistics System, improved digital infrastructure, and operational enhancements for the HIH CHOP Cares Application Review Committee. This would include but is not limited to the following tasks: • Design and implement a comprehensive Partner Engagement Database to strengthen CHOP's capacity to coordinate and sustain healthcare career partnerships. • Develop structured exposure visit workflows and logistics systems that increase efficiency, consistency, and long-term scalability of student programming. • Enhance operational systems for the HIH CHOP Cares Application Review Committee to improve transparency, coordination, and program impact. • Establish organized digital infrastructure that centralizes documentation, communications, and partnership records to ensure continuity beyond the VISTA term.
