Laboratory Technician II 80% - Food & Nutrition

The University of Iowa Health Care department of Food and Nutrition is seeking a Laboratory Technician II. This position under direct supervision, performs difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to a function of a clinical, environmental, teaching or research laboratory; maintains laboratory area and equipment. * 1. Prepare and label specialty formulas * 2. Deliver specialty and stock formulas to patient area. * 3. Prepares the preparation of standardized mixes of chemicals according to established procedures. * 4. Performs duties related to diet plans, cleaning, experimental observations and records, etc. * 5. Monitor and order formulas as needed to maintain par levels of formula in the formula storage room * 6. Complete required quality assurance records for formula room equipment and formula delivery * 7. Cleans and maintains the laboratory area and equipment. * 8. Makes inventory reports and performs simple maintenance on laboratory equipment. * 9. Maintains supplies and equipment in laboratory area and reports stock deficiencies. * 10. Special Qualification/License: * Possession of appropriate driver's license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
