Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - CST FA

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with at least 2 years of experience for a General/Neuro day shift OR position at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.Job Details• Hospital-based surgical setting with 636 beds, Magnet Designation, Level III Trauma Center, and Primary Stroke Center designation,• Primary unit is the Surgery Room with cross-training to the General Main OR specialty and Urology Center; no floating to other hospital sites,• General/Neuro cases include spine surgeries (laminectomies, ALIFs, fusions), cranial surgeries (tumors, VP shunts, subdurals, AVMs/aneurysms), and ENT procedures (neck dissections with flaps, sinus surgeries using Stealth Navigation, tympanoplasty),• Orthopedic cases include fractures, anterior/posterior hips, total knees, ortho spine, arthroscopy, and bone/soft tissue sarcomas,• General surgery cases include breast, plastic, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, GU, and GYN; DaVinci XI robot experience not typically trained during agency contract,• Navigation systems used include Medtronic (cranial and spine), Medtronic Stealth (ENT), and Stryker and Synaptive Navigation (cranial),• Orthopedic equipment includes Hana Table, Jackson Table, Beach Chair, Velys robot, and various positioning devices (Stulberg hip, spider arm, hip grip, Trimano, Arthrex shoulder traction),• EMR is Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; IV pump is Alaris,• Day shift with variable start times between 0530-0700,• 40-hour work week on an 8-hour day shift schedule,• On-call required with a 30-minute response time; call schedule spans 8 weeks and is subject to change based on staffing needs,• General/Neuro on-call includes AM/PM slots, end-of-shift (EOS) call with 10 slots, and 1-2 weekend call shifts,• Ortho on-call includes 1 weekday per week (Monday-Friday, EOS until 0700) and 1 call weekend approximately every 5 weeks,Job Requirements• Minimum of 2 years of surgical assistant experience required,• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required from NBSTSA, ABSA, or NCCSA,• Active license required, if applicable,• BLS certification required,• Epic EMR experience required,• Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration,• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration,Additional Information• Perform surgical first-assisting duties across General/Neuro and Orthopedic OR cases,• Support surgical team with patient positioning, draping, sterile field management, and instrumentation across a wide range of specialties,• Department support structure includes Charge RN, leads, and AM/PM/weekend supervisors and a unit manager,• Orientation is approximately 1-1.5 weeks depending on team and shift needs,• Holiday coverage: during holiday weeks, candidates may work four 10-hour shifts or opt not to work the holiday (unpaid),• Hospital-provided surgical scrubs; scrub caps are permitted but must be covered by a surgical bouffant,• Free parking available with shuttle service to and from the parking structure,• First-time travelers are not recommended for this position; further supervisor approval and evaluation would be required,• Candidates residing in the Greater Milwaukee area are not eligible for this position
