Job Title: RRT ECMO Specialist (Nights) Location: Minneapolis, MN 55407 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00) Job Summary Must have hands-on ECMO machine experience Shift: 3x12 Nights (18:30 07:00); occasional rotation to days (06:30 19:00) as needed Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as RRT + 1 year as ECMO Specialist First-Time Travelers: Accepted (must have at least 1-year ECMO experience) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend On-Call Requirement: Yes, as needed by the department Floating: Required within scope based on facility needs Block Scheduling: Can be discussed with the manager Local Candidates: Accepted License: Pending license accepted, must be active by start date RTO (Requested Time Off): Ideally no more than 5 days Certifications Required ACLS BLS PALS RRT State License Clinical Requirements Work Setting Adult Critical Care experience required Airway Management Skills Endotracheal tube care & suctioning Intubation assist & extubation Nasal/oral airway placement & suctioning Tracheostomy care & suctioning Pulmonary hygiene & sputum specimen collection Patient Conditions Experience ARDS, Aspiration, Bronchoscopy COVID, ECMO, Fresh tracheostomy Pneumonia Medication Administration Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent Inhaled steroids, Flolan, Nitric Oxide (INo) Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex Medication Delivery Systems Aerosol mask and trach setup Nebulizer Experience Cold, Heated, Ultrasonic, Handheld T-piece and Trach collar Oxygen Therapy Bag and mask, ET tube High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Portable oxygen tank Protocol-driven ECMO, T-piece, Trach collar Additional Clinical Skills Arterial puncture ABG interpretation and arterial blood gas collection Chest physiotherapy (including vest therapy) Ventilator Management BiPAP, CPAP SIMV ventilation Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms Mechanical ventilation weaning Patient transport (intra-hospital & ambulance) Facility Details Type: Short-Term Acute Care Designation: Magnet / Teaching / Level III Trauma Center Total Beds: 672 Scrub Color: Ceil Blue (provided) or Olive Green (traveler-provided) Charting System: Excellian / Epic
