Support staff consistently demonstrate Pacific College's values as outlined above.Position Summary:The Nursing Skills Lab and Simulation Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and delivery of skills lab and simulation-based education within the nursing program. This role ensures that laboratory and simulation environments are fully functional, safe, and aligned with curricular objectives and regulatory standards. The Technician collaborates with faculty to prepare, implement, and evaluate clinical skills training and high-fidelity simulation experiences. The primary duties of the Nursing Skills Lab and Simulation Technician include the following Key Responsibilities:Simulation & Skills Lab SupportPrepare and set up laboratory and simulation equipment, supplies, and mannequins for scheduled classes and simulations at Pacific College skills and simulation lab sites.Operate high-, medium-, and low-fidelity simulation mannequins and audiovisual systems during simulation scenarios.Assist faculty in the delivery of simulation exercises, including scenario programming and real-time technical support.Coordinate the maintenance and repair of all manikins and procedural trainers, ensuring that equipment is in working order to support Simulation programs.Reset lab and simulation environments betweenEquipment & Technology ManagementMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair simulation equipment, task trainers, and labCoordinate with vendors for maintenance, updates, and repairs of simulationManage simulation software and ensure proper functioning of recording, playback, and debriefing systems.Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, order replacements as necessary.Lab Operations & ComplianceOrder supplies and maintain inventory for the simulation lab and satellite skills labs.Maintain simulation logs, including equipment inventory lists, purchase and repair records, scenario library, user information, and instruction time.Record and compile student evaluations, consent, simulation hours, and simulation utilization for all courses to maintain the integrity and efficacy of the simulation program.Develop accurate, timely, and reliable data as the basis for operational decisions.Ensure lab and simulation activities comply with:California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) requirementsInstitutional policies and safety standardsInfection control and OSHA guidelinesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe labAssist with documentation required for accreditation and regulatory site visits (e.g., WSCUC, BRN, BPPE).Faculty & Student SupportAssist faculty and students with the proper use of simulation equipment and labIf needed, assist in clinical skills activities as required based on operational needs and availability.Support student practice sessions and open lab hours.Simulation Program SupportAssist in developing, testing, and updating simulationSupport data collection and reporting related to student performance and simulation.Participate in simulation program evaluation and quality improvement.Qualifications:Education:Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Biomedical Technology, or related field preferred.Experience:Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical, simulation, or educational lab setting preferred.Experience with healthcare simulation technology (e.g., Laerdal, Gaumard) highly desirable.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Familiarity with clinical nursing skills and proceduresAbility to operate and troubleshoot simulation equipment and AV systemsStrong organizational and time-management skillsEffective communication and teamwork skillsBasic computer proficiency (simulation software, LMS, Microsoft Office)Understanding of infection control and lab safety standardsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25-50 lbs)Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout lab environments for extended periodsReliable transportation to service satellite campuses.Work Environment: Skills laboratory and simulation center environmentMay require occasional evening or weekend hours based on program needsAdditional Duties:Perform other duties as assigned to support the nursing program and the college
