We are looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to join Kaiser Aluminum's team in Richland Washington! The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. This role partners with leadership and employees to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and reduce risk to people, property, and the environment. The EHS professional will lead initiatives focused on accident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement of safety systems. By proactively identifying hazards, educating employees, and monitoring workplace practices, this role helps protect the organization's most valuable assets-its people and its reputation. Benefits: * Salary range $62,000 to $80,000 depending on experience * High deductible medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, including spouse and children (modest payroll deductions) * 10 paid holidays per year * Vacation (3 weeks) * Supplemental leave (used in conjunction with Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave) * 401K with matching company funds * Plant bonus structure * Tuition reimbursement What you will work on: * Develop, implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures and programs * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety regulations * Develop and maintain safety training material; may lead safety training, onboarding and ongoing EHS education efforts * Conduct new hire EHS orientation and refresher training * Identification of health and safety hazards * Conduct workplace hazard assessments, safety audits and risk analysis * Coordinate emergency preparedness and response planning * Respond to onsite emergencies and incidents * Conduct investigations and track actions related to all work place incidents and near-misses * Recommend corrective actions for health and safety issues * Provide recommendations to the plant manager for annual Safety Strategic Planning * Manage Safety Strategic Plan * Safety inventory management * Monitor environmental programs such as waste management, emissions, and sustainability initiatives * Assess potential environmental risks, identify root causes for environmental concerns and develop mitigation and/or action plans What you will bring to the position: * Associates degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred. * Two plus (2+) years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment preferred. * Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with Washington Department of Ecology, WISHA and NFPA safety standards. * Solid verbal and written communication skills. * Strong PC Skills, including Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * Ability to develop, implement, and enforce environmental and safety programs and protocols. * Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions. * Ability to work in teams * Ability to work independently We are an equal opportunity employer.
