Job Description

A contract position is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with strong critical care and ventilator expertise. This role requires delivering advanced respiratory care and diagnostic procedures for cardiopulmonary patients across all ages and acuity levels, including neonates and pediatrics with Level 2 NICU experience. The assignment involves working two 12-hour day shifts per week without on-call duties, offering a balanced schedule that supports work-life integration. Location: This opportunity is based in New Castle, Colorado, a scenic area known for its outdoor recreation and welcoming community atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy care to adult, pediatric, and Level 2 NICU patients. Utilize advanced ventilator management and critical care techniques. Perform diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures. Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications: NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification; CRT applicants not considered. Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program. Valid Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license in good standing. Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (AAP) - all required. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with strong critical care, ventilator, neonatal, and pediatric expertise. Previous traveler experience preferred; first-time travelers will not be considered. Housing: Studio and one-bedroom apartments are available within half a block of the hospital, fully furnished with utilities, Wi-Fi, and on-site laundry included. No deposit is required, and pets are not permitted. Housing availability is subject to assignment dates. This contract role offers a unique balance of professional challenge and lifestyle benefits in a supportive healthcare setting.
