The Surgical Physician Assistant will work within the Operating Room, which features 11 fully equipped surgical rooms, including two open heart suites, a cystoscopy suite, and a dedicated ophthalmology suite.First Assist in General Surgery, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery casesPerforms history and physicals on surgical patientsPerforms post-operative rounds on surgical patientsSuburban Hospital is a 228-bed, Level II Trauma Center, and a community-based hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Suburban Hospital is a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine and has served Montgomery County and the surrounding area for more than 65 years. The designated trauma center for Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and has earned ANCC Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence.Qualifications:Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistance ProgramLicensed by the Maryland Board of PhysiciansBoard certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician AssistantsCDS and DEA licensureBLS Health Care Provider CPR and ACLS certification required: AHA or Red Cross acceptedOne year or greater PA Operating Room experience required.
