Plant Customer Service Representative

Job Opening: Plant Customer Service Representative Location: Gary, IN 46402 Pay: $18-$20 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMPosition Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Plant Customer Service Representative to manage the customer order process and support daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in driving on-time delivery and ensuring a top-tier customer experience.Key Responsibilities:Enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system accurately and on timeCommunicate with customers via email and phone regarding orders, inquiries, updates, and changesEnsure timely deliveries by coordinating with scheduling, production, and shippingHandle filing, billing, and purchase order coordination with internal departmentsFollow up on past-due accounts and enter quality complaints when neededMaintain detailed product specifications and manage inventory for key customersCollaborate with sales and service teams to fulfill customer needsIdentify and resolve order issues before productionRecommend improvements to enhance the customer experienceQualifications:Education:High school diploma or GED requiredExperience:2+ years in a customer service role (manufacturing experience preferred)ERP system knowledge (order entry/returns) is a plusProficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and ExcelKey Competencies for Success:AdaptabilityStrong Communication SkillsCustomer FocusInterpersonal SavvyAttention to DetailTime Management Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
