MRI Tech in Mechanicsville, VA

Deliver advanced patient care in this focused MRI technologist contract role, managing all aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in a hospital environment. This position is ideal for experienced MRI professionals skilled with GE equipment and familiar with contemporary imaging processes. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles outside the hospital's area and meet required certification standards. Schedule: 40-hour workweek, Friday-Monday block Friday & Monday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. On-call 4 days per month Qualifications: Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology and advanced MR registry, or eligibility within one year of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required before beginning patient care) At least 1 year of experience working in an MRI department within a hospital Demonstrated proficiency with GE MRI equipment Familiarity with workflows, operation, and safety protocols for MRI imaging modalities Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) strongly preferred Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT-accredited program preferred EPIC EHR experience beneficial Responsibilities: Perform MRI scans for all age groups, averaging 35-40 cases daily Apply MRI safety principles to ensure the well-being of patients and team Select appropriate MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters per protocol Confirm quality and accuracy of all patient and procedural data Conduct IV injections and administer magnetic contrast agents as needed Deliver patient instructions and care throughout imaging procedures Support training for new staff and oversight of MRI students Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance oversight Advance your MRI expertise in a professional hospital setting by applying today for this vital position!
