School Psychologist (2026-2027) JOB STATUS: POOL POSTING DATE: 04/08/2026 CLOSING DATE: 08/31/2026 05:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 00002932 LOCATION: Intervention Services POSITION TITLE: School Psychologist (2026-2027) PAY SCHEDULE / GRADE: Exempt/ Pay Grade 103 HOURS PER DAY: 8 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Disclaimer: This position is grant funded (IDEA B-100%). Funds for this position are expected to be available up to the end of the school year. In addition to other specified conditions of employment, the applicant understands that no guarantee of continued employment, beyond the availability of the grant funds, is expressed or implied by Coppell Independent School District. Primary Purpose: Provide psychological services for the district, including psychological evaluation and report writing, behavior management and counseling. Assess the psychological and psychoeducational needs of learners referred to special education. Consult with parents, educators and administrators and provide training as requested. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: * Master's degree in psychology, education or related field from an accredited college or university * Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) Special Knowledge/Skills: * Knowledge of procedures for assessing emotional and behavioral functioning for educational purposes * Knowledge of psychological evaluation instruments, psycho-social development, special populations, treatment and educational and behavioral intervention strategies * Ability to interpret data * Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills EXPERIENCE: * 1 year successfully providing psychological services in an educational setting MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment/Evaluation * Select and administer formal and informal psychological/behavioral evaluations to determine learner eligibility for special education services according to federal and state regulations * Assist in compilation of formal and informal data, including classroom observations and personal interviews * Compile data necessary to complete a Functional Behavioral Assessment and develop a Behavior Intervention Plan * Write psychological evaluation reports consistent with criteria established by state and federal law. * Participate in the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with interpretation of evaluation data, appropriate placement and behavioral interventions and development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for learners according to district procedures Consultation * Provide professional learning to assist school personnel in understanding how to identify and teach compensation skills for specific areas of concern * Consult with parents concerning the assessment results and psychological needs of learners * Observe informal interactions between educators and learners * Consult with parents, educators, administrators and other relevant individuals to enhance interactions and facilitation of educational programs * Provide formal consultation concerning a specific learner with special needs after parent permission has been obtained Program Management * Assist in the selection of appropriate evaluation materials, procedures and equipment * Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the assessment process and make changes based on findings * Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required within specified timelines * Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists and local board policy * Comply with all district and campus requirements and procedures Communication * Establish and maintain campus visitation * Maintain a positive, professional and effective relationship with supervisors, administrators, educators, staff, learners and parents * Effectively communicate in a timely manner with colleagues, learners and parents * Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the program * Consult with educators and service providers regarding the development and implementation of the behavioral portion of an IEP * Maintain confidentiality of learner/parent and school information and records at all times * Participate with others within the department and district to analyze data, develop improved processes and train staff in areas of identified need Professional Growth and Development * Obtain appropriate number of continuing education hours necessary to maintain license * Continue to develop a knowledge base and skills necessary to provide appropriate services required by an LSSP * Maintain ethical standards as required by the state psychology board Other * Complete all other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment Used: Personal computer; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); printer, copier and fax machine; and Google Apps. WORKING_CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Patience and emotional control under stress. Organization and focus in order to frequently monitor timeline deadlines. Possible involvement with special programs or with Manifest Determination meetings and need to control of learner behavior through physical restraint. Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases. Regular district-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned. May work prolonged or irregular hours. START DATE: 07/27/2026
