Alignment between Standards of Excellence (SoE) and the district's Theory of Action helps ensure that principals are able to focus on scholar achievement and that central office supports are timely and effective.Our Vision for Learning in a Post-Pandemic World:In our pursuit of a more fair, just, and good system of education, we want each of our learners, both each of our scholars and each of their educators, to be individually and collectively presented with academically / intellectually complex tasks that are worthy of their productive struggle and allow them authentic opportunities to demonstrate their work and their learning of academic content and transferable skills in a joyful and adventurous environment.THE OPPORTUNITY: Location: Administration or As AssignedReports to: Executive ChefFLSA Status: ExemptSalary Band: 7Compensation: $68,891.00 - $93, 003.00Under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef, this individual performs the following duties and responsibilities in support of the School Nutrition Department.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages and maintains the department's menu planning and point of sale system, LINQ.Administers all special diet orders and implements each special diet plan, per medical professional's orders, federal guidelines, and District policy, in collaboration with District partners Meets with parents, school-based staff, and District partners as neededDirects and administers the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program nutrition, including student education and follow-upManages and develops the department's nutrition and point of sale training program for staff and studentsAssists in supervising and monitoring school cafeterias for compliance with federal regulationsAssists in planning menus to meet nutritional requirements specified in federal requisitionsLeads the department in planning student taste testsResponsible for the maintenance of files for memos, recipes, menus, and correspondenceResponsible for the development of a written procedure manual in relation to production and recipesHandles inquiries from school-based personnel related to menus, food substitutions, and recipesPerforms tasks in a manner meeting all operational standards of Food and Child Nutrition ServicesPerforms related duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCommunicates effectively in written and oral form with people using positive interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of nutrition principles, food science, and health promotionKnowledge of laws and regulations related to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition and K-12 school food serviceAbility to develop effective nutrition programs and meal plansExperience teaching nutritional education to students and adultsAbility to analyze data and make informed decisions based on program outcomesProven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and evaluating programsQualificationsBachelor's degree in nutrition/Dietetics or a related FieldAt least 3-5 years of experience in nutrition and wellness management or a related roleRegistered Dietitian eligible with the Commission Dietetic Registration within 120 days of accepted offerServSafe Certification or a certificate is required within 90 days of the accepted offerWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of this position.
