Description of Duties:Coach students with various exceptionalities to improve employment outcomes after graduation from high schoolRead student's Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to understand how best to accommodate their learning needs while coaching at local job sitesBuild relationships with students to understand how they learnImplement behvaior strategies to assist students as they learn different jobsLearn the various tasks students perform at job training sites and creatively find additional job tasks to support optimal learning experiences for studentsComplete daily computerized reports that reflect student progress and attendanceAssist students with career acquisition skills such as communicationAssist students with developing self-advocacy skillsWorks to recognize when students require more support or less support at job training sitesCommunicates with employers regarding student duties and successesPrepares and submits Transition Coach IEP input reports and participates in IEP meetingsPerforms other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designeeRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals in various socioeconomic and multicultural areas.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environmentAbility to manage time effectively and efficientlyEffective verbal and written communication skillsPhysical/Environment Requirements: The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
