Title: Oncology Pharmacist Work schedule would be Monday - Friday, from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, however may include some time in advance or afterwards as we are working with a live provider practice and their patients physically coming into their office. Payrate: $60.00 - $70.00/HR Duration: 04/14/2026 to 08/31/2026 looking for contract-to-hire. Minimum of 3 months and then potentially move to Client FTE. Hiring for a full 40 hours a week for this role. Screening Questions: 1. Can you briefly describe your pharmacy experience, particularly any work in oncology or specialty pharmacy? 2. Do you currently hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Washington state? 3. Have you worked in a remote or high-volume verification role before, and are you comfortable communicating with providers and patients by phone and electronic systems? Remote Position - State of Washington The location is remote with a potential need to travel. It should be a low travel requirement, but I would like to have 20% as the potential travel amount. I would like this person to be on Pacific or Mountain time if possible as the location I am staffing is in the state of Washington. The candidate MUST have an unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Washington. Prefer the candidate to have Oncology and/or Specialty Medication dispensing experience. The environment is an Oncology provider's office for dispensing oral medications, injectables, as well as infusion medications. Job Description: " The Remote Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, ensuring safe and appropriate therapy, and providing clinical support to patients and providers. " This role focuses on prescription processing activities, including therapy evaluation, recommendations, and drug information support, without involvement in onsite dispensing operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities " Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety, including dose, indication, drug interactions, and contraindications. " Evaluate patient-specific clinical information (e.g., diagnosis, lab values, medication history) to ensure optimal therapy selection. " Make evidence-based recommendations to providers regarding therapy modifications, dosing adjustments, or alternative treatments when appropriate. " Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, clinical guidelines, and best practices in oncology and specialty pharmacy. " Coordinates with physician staff and service providers in planning and implementing patient care plans. " Provide timely responses to provider inquiries related to medication therapy, dosing, side effects, and drug interactions. " Respond to patient questions regarding medications, including administration, side effects, adherence, and general drug information. " Identify and escalate potential medication safety concerns or adverse drug reactions. " Document all clinical interventions, recommendations, and communications in the appropriate systems. " Support prior authorization and medication access processes through clinical review when needed. " Maintain up-to-date knowledge of oncology therapies, drug approvals, and treatment guidelines. Accreditation and Compliance " Adhere to all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and organizational policies. " Maintain accurate and complete documentation to support compliance and audit readiness. " Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities as required. Minimum Qualifications " Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. " Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Washington. " Minimum of 3 years of dispensing pharmacist experience; oncology or specialty pharmacy experience strongly preferred. " Strong clinical knowledge of oncology medications and treatment protocols. " Excellent communication skills for remote patient and provider interactions. Work Environment " Fully remote position. " Requires prolonged computer use and frequent communication via phone and electronic systems. Reporting Responsibilities " Reports to Pharmacy Manager, Clinical Director, or designated supervisor. " No direct supervisory responsibilities.
