Summary APP Genitourinary Oncology / 12 Month APP Fellowship Program Note: This is a 12-month-long APP Fellowship - Tentative target start 08/01/2026. In-Person Interviews for this position will be held on Monday April 13th, please keep open availability on this date for potential interview. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Physician Assistant (PA-C) Fellowship Program is an innovative initiative, offering licensed APRNs or PA-Cs the opportunity to specialize in the evaluation, management, and treatment of genitourinary oncology patients. The fellowship will be learning-based within the GU Oncology Program. The APRN/PA-C is responsible for care of the GU Surgical Oncology patients, GU Medical Oncology patient, GU Surgery Inpatients, GU Inpatient Consults, OR Coverage within the scope of practice permitted under Florida law. Based in the GU Oncology Program the Advanced Practice Professional (APP) Fellow provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG), and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. Position Highlights: * Assists physicians with the evaluation, management and treatment of a wide spectrum of urologic oncology and urology needs. This includes care of the GU Surgical Oncology patient (including in-patient management from admission through discharge, pre and post operative assessments, New and Established patient visits, First Assist coverage in the OR), care of the GU Medical Oncology patient (including management of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trial patients) and care of the General Urology patient (including management of urologic comorbidities in both an inpatient and outpatient setting). * Works within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s). Responsibilities: * Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care. * Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis. * Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice. * May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice. * Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice. * Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules. * Research project and poster/podium presentation * Participation in Tumor boards and other educational venues Credentials and Qualifications: * Master's degree required. * Graduated from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nursing Program or an accredited Physician Assistant Program along with board certification in APRN or PA-C. * Be licensed as an APRN or Physician Assistant in the state of Florida one month prior to fellowship start date. * Must be currently certified in BLS and ACLS and maintain certifications while in the fellowship. * Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; OR experience is a plus.
