Per Diem Retail Pharmacist in Hilliard, OH

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking Per Diem Pharmacists to support patient care and consultation for a complex patient population in Hilliard, OH. This opportunity focuses on serving Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients managing multiple chronic conditions. Candidates must have exceptional communication skills, patience, and a strong knowledge of commonly prescribed medications in a retail and/or specialty pharmacy setting. Responsibilities: Accurately dispense medications while ensuring patient safety and adherence. Provide thorough medication counseling for complex medication regimens involving 8-15 drugs daily. Manage patients with chronic, advanced disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Utilize Pioneer Rx software to process prescriptions and document patient interactions. Deliver compassionate care to patients with low literacy levels, ensuring they understand their therapy. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Qualifications: Active Pharmacy license valid for practice in OH. Proven retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience. Strong expertise in disease state management and patient consultation. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with complex patient populations. Experience with Pioneer Rx preferred but not mandatory. Comfortable working in a patient-centered environment focused on quality care over volume. Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday (hours vary; per diem as needed). Flexible availability to cover Spring and Summer vacation periods.
