Provide quality psychotherapy to children who are experiencing mental illness or behavior problems. Services are provided in a variety of settings including the clinic, school, and home, with an emphasis on home based services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (List those duties and responsibilities that are fundamental in accomplishing the major functions of the position. Therapist Responsibilities• Provide direct service/psychotherapy primarily to children mental health clients, but some adult mental health clients as needed, including group, individual, family, collateral, consultation, and psycho educational. Complete intake/screening/assessment process Develop treatment plans for clients, and complete all required documentation, including OTRs and other paperwork associated with service authorization. Complete all correspondence in a timely fashion. Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings providing feedback on all pertinent cases. Maintain agency expectation for productivity. Document all services provided in accordance with agency standards. Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies. Handle crisis situations as they arise. Maintain an expert knowledge base regarding current practices and research. Flexible work schedule (to include evenings and weekends). Utilize referral sources and receive referrals as appropriate. Be a team member on agency and local committees as needed/assigned. Fulfill agency and/or board requirements (including but not limited to exams, education, and supervision). Perform other related work as required and assigned. Masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family, or psychology. Certification or licensure eligibility. Experience working with children with severe emotional disturbances in a psychotherapy setting preferred. Complete State Board process to become independently licensed.
