We design and build professional-grade products-including loudspeakers, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, and networked AV systems-that deliver exceptional sonic performance and reliability.The Acoustic Test Engineering team ensures that every QSC product meets the highest standards of electroacoustic performance, consistency, durability, and compliance.The Acoustic Test Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining electroacoustic test strategies that validate the performance, reliability, and compliance of QSC loudspeakers, transducers, and integrated audio systems.This role collaborates closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure products meet acoustic performance targets, production consistency requirements, and long-term reliability expectations.Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Acoustic Test Development & Execution• Develop comprehensive electroacoustic test plans and validation strategies for loudspeakers, transducers, and integrated audio systems.• Design and implement automated and manual acoustic test setups for R&D validation and production environments.• Perform detailed acoustic measurements including frequency response, distortion (THD), impedance, sensitivity, and polarity. • Conduct nearfield, farfield, and ground-plane measurements in lab and field environments.• Perform root-cause analysis of acoustic performance issues using measurement microphones, audio analyzers, environmental chambers, laser vibrometry, and related instrumentation.Automation & Data Systems• Develop and maintain automated acoustic test scripts using Python. Familiar with acoustic test tools like SoundCheck, Audio Precision, Klippel, or equivalent platforms.• Implement data acquisition, storage, and reporting systems to improve measurement consistency and traceability.• Design and maintain acoustic test fixtures, jigs, and microphone positioning systems for repeatable measurements.• Support production test transfer to manufacturing and contract manufacturers, ensuring measurement correlation between R&D and production environments.Cross-Functional Collaboration• Partner with transducer, DSP, electrical, and mechanical engineers to influence design-for-acoustic-performance (DFAP) and design-for-testability (DFT).• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure production test coverage, yield optimization, and acoustic consistency.• Document all test results, procedures, engineering findings, and validation reports.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesSkills and Minimum Experience Required• Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.• 3+ years of experience in electroacoustic testing, loudspeaker validation, or acoustic system development.• Strong hands-on experience with acoustic measurement systems (Audio Precision, Klippel, SoundCheck, or equivalent).• Proficiency with measurement of microphones, calibrators, anechoic or quasi-anechoic measurement techniques.• Solid understanding of loudspeaker theory, transducer behavior, enclosure acoustics, and basic DSP concepts.• Experience developing automated test systems using Python, or similar tools.• Ability to interpret acoustic data and correlate performance to electrical and mechanical root causes.• Willingness to travel as required to support NPI projects and provide on-site support at contract manufacturers.• Must be able to regularly lift up and move equipment up to 50lbs.Preferred Skills and Experience• Experience testing professional loudspeaker systems, powered speakers, or networked audio systems.• Experience correlating simulation (FEA, BEM, enclosure modeling) to measure acoustic results.• Familiarity with Ethernet-based audio systems (Dante, AES67, AVB).• Experience working with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers.QSC. is owned by Acuity Inc., which is located in the United States.
