Right Place. Right Price. Client is looking for a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry Team! Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) in Protein and Analytical Core Technologies (PACT) is focused on utilizing varied enzymatic digestions, high performance liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry methods for protein identification and quantification in various types of samples. This person will: perform lab reagent preparation and inventory, sample extractions, total protein determinations, enzymatic digestions, and equipment operation with a focus on ensuring the lab provides timely and quality results to our clients. The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following: Ensure that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, on time, and in a safe manner Perform routine lab support tasks including the following: Solution preparation General lab cleaning/maintenance Lab supply inventory Equipment and assays operation Perform sample extraction, total protein quantitation, and enzymatic digestion Assist in the loading and running of digested samples onto chromatography and mass spectrometry systems Troubleshoot processes as needed Promotion of a safe working environment. Continually look for process improvement opportunities and help the team to implement solutions Job Qualification Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience. Strong wet-lab skills Ability to work well with teams as well as independently Attention to detail and ability to stay focused Experience with problem identification, problem solving and process improvement Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal/technical growth Must have excellent written, oral, and organizational skills The following are preferred: Protein specific analysis experience Sample preparation for proteomics, knowledge of mass spectrometry, and database maintenance High performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry experience Why Work With Us?
