Learn more about our employee perks:You Will Do:Job Purpose:Provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians while following established nursing and clinical protocols. Deliver evidence-based care appropriate to the age population served within the department's scope of service.Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive direct patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluationPerform delegated medical interventions and procedures in accordance with approved protocolsWrite and maintain accurate medical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and ordersCollaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomesAssist physicians during examinations and proceduresOrder, interpret, and incorporate laboratory, respiratory, and radiology results into patient care plansDevelop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized patient plans of careEducate patients and families regarding treatment plans, hospitalization, and discharge planningCoordinate patient care and serve as a resource for staff, patients, and familiesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety practicesMaintain professional competencies and contribute to nursing education through mentorship and in-servicesPerform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goalsWhat Sets BRG Apart:At Baton Rouge General, we are a community of compassionate, caring individuals who set the bar for healthcare excellence.
