Hodcarrier (New Hire)

Job Description United States Steel - Granite City Works has immediate openings for temporary Hodcarriers. The Hodcarrier role is based within a heavy industrial environment, and you may be required to work within various areas of the mill. Dependent upon the area, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy. Requirements: * Candidate will be a qualified laborer that is fully trained in all aspects of assisting bricklayers. * A High School diploma or GED equivalent * The position requires you to work rotating shifts, which will include Saturdays and Sundays. * The position also requires you to work overtime as needed. * Additionally, safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hard hat, goggles, hearing protection, and protective clothing and work boots with metatarsal protection. * Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Starting base pay rate is $23.91/hr. which will increase to $29.89/hr. after probation is completed. The starting base pay rate is a good faith estimate. Company Overview Since 1901, U. S.
