This role plays a key part in supporting the growth and sustainability of the infusion service line by ensuring consistent clinical standards, efficient operations, and exceptional patient care. This position drives clinical excellence, operational performance, and financial stewardship across infusion locations serving oncology and non-oncology patients. This role partners closely with operations, pharmacy, and provider leadership to optimize clinical quality, improve patient access, and support strong program performance. This role also ensures compliance with regulatory standards while advancing initiatives that support program growth, patient experience, and strong clinical outcomes. The position directly oversees clinical supervisors and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary leaders to align nursing practice with the organization's mission and strategic goals. Responsibilities Clinical Leadership * Establish and maintain standardized nursing practice, clinical protocols, and competency standards across all infusion sites. * Ensure safe administration of oncology and biologic therapies, including appropriate management of infusion reactions and adverse events. * Monitor and improve clinical quality, safety outcomes, and patient experience. * Partner with providers, APPs, and pharmacy leadership to leadership to maintain safe and effective infusion practices. Operational Leadership * Provide leadership and oversight for clinical supervisors and nursing staff across multiple infusion centers. * Develop staffing models that support high patient volumes while maintaining quality and safety. * Optimize clinic flow, chair utilization, and nurse productivity to improve patient access and reduce wait times. * Lead implementation of new therapies, protocols, and operational improvements. Financial and Business Performance * Support the financial performance of the infusion department by aligning nursing operations with business and growth objectives. * Monitor and influence key operational drivers including infusion capacity, staffing efficiency, resource utilization, and cost management. * Collaborate with operational and pharmacy leadership on program growth, service line expansion, and new therapy implementation. * Partner with operations, pharmacy, and scheduling teams to improve capacity management and access for new referrals. * Participate in strategic planning to increase referral volume and optimize site performance. Quality & Compliance * Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. * Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and audits. * Lead clinical quality improvement initiatives across infusion sites. * Oversee development and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and competency standards. Leadership & Team Development * Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of highly skilled infusion nurses. * Promote professional development, including ONCC certification and infusion expertise. * Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-engagement culture among nursing teams. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT SCOPE Oversee all site supervisors, currently 3-4 FTEs Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Licensure & Certification * Active Registered Nurse (RN) license * Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) or other ONCC certification preferred * BLS required; ACLS preferred Education * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required * Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Experience: * 7+ years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or infusion * 3+ years of leadership experience in ambulatory or infusion settings * Experience managing multi-site clinical operations and high-volume infusion services preferre The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $125,500-$188,500, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
