Position Type: Student Support Services/School Psychologist Date Posted: 11/10/2025 Location: Barnes Early Childhood Center District:   Grosse Pointe Public Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide QUALIFICATIONS A person employed as a school psychologist in a Michigan school is required to hold a valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate or a Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate. Skills & Expectations * Knowledge of special education rules and regulations * Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting * Experience working with children ages 0-3 preferred * Conduct observations, review data, analyze data, and establish documents for reporting * Support the social, emotional, and educational environment for all students * Conduct extensive psychological evaluations and re-evaluations for students suspected of, or having, a disability according to MARSE * Interpret psychological data with Multi-Disciplinary teams, Individual Education Planning teams, teachers, professionals, and parents * Display outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written * Independently and accurately implement the requirements of the IDEA & Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education * Effectively work on a team, facilitate and lead meetings * Display outstanding evaluation/diagnostic skills particularly in the area of learning, as it relates to 13 eligibility areas Working Conditions * Grosse Pointe's Early On program provides evaluations and services to children ages 0-3 in Grosse Pointe, Hamtramck, Harper Woods and Highland Park. * Early On is a year round program. This position follows a year round calendar. * Service for students and their families are provided in their natural environment- home and community settings. * Competitive salary and benefits in accordance with Grosse Pointe Education Association.
