Job Description

Supports faculty and students in the operation of academic labs by assisting with lab setup, maintaining equipment and inventory, coordinating supplies, and ensuring a safe and organized lab environment. Works collaboratively with department faculty and student aides to support instructional activities and promote an effective learning environment. Qualifications Education: Associate degree or certificate in the field of automotive technology Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a lab, technical , or instructional support role; Experience with inventory control, order planning, and equipment maintenance. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, effective verbal and written communication skills, strong time management and organization skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail and able to work with accuracy. Responsibilities 1. Assist instructors with lab setup, demonstrations, instructional support, and cleanup. 2. Monitor and maintain inventory levels for lab materials and supplies; conduct routine inventory checks and alert the chairperson of usage and shortages. 3. Receive and verify deliveries against order confirmations; store supplies following appropriate safety and organizational procedures (e.g., First In, First Out when applicable). 4. Maintain lab equipment in working condition; perform light cleaning and minor adjustments; work with chairperson to schedule maintenance or repairs as needed. 5. Ensure lab and storage areas are clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards. 6. Track and report supply usage, and support budget tracking. 7. Follow all lab procedures and safety practices. 8. Support department events, workshops, recruitment efforts, and community outreach activities as assigned. 9. Attend department and division meetings as required. 10. Maintain documentation and reports related to inventory, equipment, and lab activity. 11. Equipment Operated: Lab-specific equipment, tools, and technology appropriate to the academic discipline. May include scientific instruments, computer hardware/software, mechanical tools, or other instructional equipment. 12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
