Job Summary The University of Louisiana Monroe's (ULM) College of Pharmacy, the State's only publicly supported College of Pharmacy, is a nationally recognized leader in pharmacy education, research, and service. With a strong tradition of preparing practice-ready pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, the College delivers rigorous Pharm.D., Ph.D., and B.S. curricula, innovative research training, and robust clinical and community partnerships across the region. The College seeks a visionary and energetic dean who will champion its mission and lead it into its next era of growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a vibrant, student-centered learning environment, strengthening academic programs, expanding research excellence, and improving the development of intellectual property and products. Equally essential will be the ability to cultivate a broader and more dynamic outreach to alumni, healthcare partners, industry, and the wider community, building relationships that elevate the College's visibility, support, and impact. The new dean will serve as an enthusiastic advocate for the College, guiding it with optimism, innovation, and a forward-looking perspective that embraces opportunities for collaboration, advancement, and service to the region. Duties and Responsibilities Provides strategic leadership that develops an ever-improving College. * Provides vision and directs/implements strategic planning consistent with and in support of the University strategic plan. * Develops strong working relationships with other Deans, Vice Presidents, the University President, and other University administrators. * Promotes a collaborative and innovative environment. Is responsible for the academic, administrative, and fiscal leadership of the College. * Recruits, retains, and supervises high-quality faculty, staff, and students. * Promotes, encourages, and supports research, extramural funding, drug testing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. * Resolves complaints and grievances of students, staff, and faculty. * In association with the Associate Deans, determines the charge of and appoints members to College committees. * Chairs the College's administrative/executive committee/council. * Annually evaluates direct reports to the Dean. * Oversees the promotion and tenure process in the College. * Oversees space utilization in the College. * Oversees accreditation processes, including development of accreditation reports and site visits Provides external representation to promote the College and the University. * Represents the College to internal and external stakeholders, including at University, Community, and Professional events. * Develops strong relationships with industries and promotes entrepreneurship. * Serves on professional and university committees as assigned. Cultivates development opportunities for and supports development efforts of the ULM Foundation. Minimum Qualifications * Possess a terminal degree in the area of Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences, with eligibility for pharmacist licensure preferred. * Have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in academic administration and demonstrated effectiveness in a comparable environment. * Demonstrate a background in providing visionary academic, administrative, and fiscal leadership. * Have a demonstrated record of successful administrative accomplishment, including program development and student recruitment and retention. * Have a demonstrated record of experience with research, drug testing, extramural funding, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, including oversight of other research faculty. * Possess a strong record of teaching, service, and scholarly achievement consistent with the rank of professor. * Have the ability to work outside normal university business hours as needed and travel occasionally.
