The Anesthesia and Physical Medicine Service is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Physiatrist to provide comprehensive Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation care to a diverse veteran population. * This is an open and continuous announcement. The incumbent will be responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal, neurologic, and functional impairments, with an emphasis on restoring function, maximizing independence, and improving quality of life. This position requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration within an interdisciplinary care team, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. Duties may include but are not limited to: * Evaluates, diagnoses, and manages veterans with a broad range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal, neurologic, and functional impairments, including spine disorders, joint conditions, post-operative rehabilitation needs, traumatic injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. * Performs comprehensive functional and disability evaluations, including impairment assessments, work capacity evaluations, and return-to-function planning. * Develops and oversees individualized, interdisciplinary rehabilitation treatment plans focused on pain management, mobility, strength, endurance, and activities of daily living. * Provides non-surgical management of spine and musculoskeletal conditions, including conservative therapies, rehabilitation strategies, and interventional procedures as clinically indicated. * Performs and/or interprets rehabilitative and diagnostic procedures within the scope of credentialing and privileging, which may include: * Musculoskeletal and joint injections (e.g., shoulder, knee, hip, sacroiliac joint) * Spine-related injections and procedures, as applicable * Trigger point injections * Peripheral joint and soft tissue injections * Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies * Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures * Coordinates care with physical therapy, occupational therapy, kinesiotherapy, prosthetics, pain management, neurology, orthopedics, primary care, and other specialty services to ensure continuity and optimal functional outcomes. * Provides consultation services to other clinical services regarding rehabilitation planning, functional limitations, and return-to-activity recommendations. * Documents all clinical encounters, procedures, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record in accordance with VHA policies and clinical practice standards. * Participates in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and program development efforts within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation service. * Maintains clinical competency, continuing medical education, and compliance with all federal, VHA, and facility-specific policies, including credentialing, privileging, and patient safety requirements. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
