This opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health facility located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This contract role offers the chance to manage critical pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance and supporting patient care within a specialized inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including staffing, verifying medication orders, and dispensing medications. Manage controlled substances and automated dispensing cabinet systems (Pyxis). Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, CMS, and state board of pharmacy requirements. Provide leadership and guidance in a facility with no pharmacy technician support. Collaborate closely with administration and other pharmacy leaders for seamless transition and ongoing support. Participate in on-call weekend coverage as needed. Qualifications and Experience: Valid Indiana pharmacist license in good standing required. Demonstrated inpatient pharmacy leadership experience. Familiarity with HCS order entry and Pyxis automation preferred; training available if needed. Ability to work independently and manage a pharmacy department efficiently. Behavioral health pharmacy experience is a strong asset. Schedule and Location: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with additional on-call responsibilities. Weekend coverage primarily on-call. Facility is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, near Indianapolis International Airport. Dress code is business casual or scrubs. This position is a contract role requiring coverage from March 30, 2026, through June 30, 2026, or until a permanent placement is made. Local candidates are preferred, though travel expenses may be considered.
