This role applies knowledge and techniques from behavioral and biomedical sciences to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Independently provides behavioral healthcare services within a credentialed scope of practice. Serves as a lead worker or liaison to other support agencies. Acts as lead worker over lower-level behavioral healthcare providers. Independently develops and implements treatment plans for clients. Coordinates admission, assessment, evaluation, and treatment plans for clients. Provides interventions for acute and more complex clients. Handles cases with multiple factors and provides crisis intervention. Participates in establishing, implementing, and directing behavioral healthcare programs. Develops and designs treatment intervention techniques and procedures. Evaluates and modifies treatment systems based on client progress. Evaluates the performance of lower-level behavioral healthcare providers. Maintains data and documents to satisfy federal, state, and local agency requirements. Serves as an active member of treatment teams and participates in training and departmental meetings. Establishes and maintains working relationships with various facilities and agencies. Coordinates referrals and conducts follow-up services. May require unusual work schedules or arrangements. May be exposed to clients who may be potentially violent. May be exposed to unusual noise, odors, or contagious diseases. May require travel to community sites.
