JOB SUMMARYThe Indian Health Board of Minneapolis is excited to announce that a full-time exempt Licensed Psychologist position is now open in the Counseling Center. Clinical services at IHB Counseling Center are culturally relevant and trauma-focused with an emphasis on the following within our work environment: being collaborative, supportive, flexible, and creative. Our clinic takes a strength-based approach in advocating for and supporting the American Indian community as well as other marginalized and underserved communities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide diagnostic assessments and therapy for individuals of all ages within the framework discussed above.Provide clinical supervision to trainees within the framework discussed above.School-based services, such as therapy, teacher and staff consultation, client and community advocacy, trauma-informed training, and presentations to school staff.Maintain expected caseload and complete documentation in a timely manner.Optional:Provide family and group therapy for individuals of all ages. Collaboration with Indigenous Services and Integrative Behavioral Health teams. General psychological testing and evaluation to all ages within a culturally sensitive framework.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCELP in the State of MN and in good standing.Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.Excellent communication skills, clear and concise writing skills, the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, strong collaboration skills, and the capacity for self-reflection.Preferred:5,000 hours of experience in clinical assessment and therapy of high-risk children, adolescents, and adults.Experience in trauma-focused therapy interventions and child & adult assessment.Experience and understanding of Native American/Indigenous culture and community, and a willingness to actively work on decolonizing health care systems.Experience/competence in supervision of psychology trainees.HIPAAIHB makes reasonable efforts to limit access to and use of protected health information (PHI) by employees to the minimum necessary performance of assigned duties as outlines in job descriptions. This position is access restricted to PHI needed to carry out health care operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, and driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
