Typical Duties: * Supervises assigned staff, including hiring, training, competency development, performance feedback and termination. * Monitors staff activity and productivity. Makes staff assignments to ensure coverage of all areas and functions as a resource for the pharmacy staff. * Monitors and evaluates compliance with performance standards for key department process. Assists in developing performance reports and analyzes patterns of variance and implements strategies for process improvement projects. * Provides accurate and timely drug information and education to patients, families, nursing and other clinical staff. * Manages difficult or emotional patients, responds timely to customer needs, solicits patient feedback to improve service and ensures highest patient satisfaction. * Handle escalated patient issues, ensuring the appropriate resources are involved. * Functions as a clinical resource for pharmacy staff. * Represents the department in interdepartmental/district meetings as required. * Provides technical support of drug distribution services for all outpatients. * Ensures medication management processes meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Assists with monthly reporting. * Ensures completion and accuracy of required documentation and record keeping. * Performs all other job related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited College of Pharmacy * Two plus years of experience in pharmacy Preferred Education and Experience: * Previous supervisory experience. Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: * Pharmacy license from Texas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for same.
