Clinical Pharmacist Oncology Specialist

MUST HAVE: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy Must have some hospital pharmacy experience we'd prefer a pharmacist with their 2nd year specialty in oncology (Oncology Pharmacy Residency) Nice To Have: we'd prefer a pharmacist with their 2nd year specialty in oncology (Oncology Pharmacy Residency) at least 3 years of experience • Interacts with other pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers to provide safe and effective care, including recommending and monitoring drug therapy, identifying and resolving drug-related problems, drug policy and order set development, etc. • Provides oversight of order entry and verification of chemotherapy/infusion orders as well as preparation and dispensing of medication. Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software. • Actively participates in various service line related committees or groups as pharmacy representative .• Provides counseling and education to patients and caregivers regarding chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications and supportive care. Provides drug-related education to staff. • Participates in maintenance of department compliance with federal, state, accrediting organization, and other regulatory law and/or standards, with particular interest in compliance with USP sterile compounding and hazardous drug standards. • Supports budget targets through inventory and formulary management, waste reduction, and efficient workflow design. • Provides leadership, training, and support for strategic/quality initiatives of pharmacy and oncology/infusion departments. • Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
