Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the electronic record system. Ensure identifying images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. A patient and compassionate disposition is required. Must be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.
