Join us and help define what's next.Position Summary:We are seeking a Lab Technician (Night Shift) to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This role plays a critical part in supporting quality and production by performing laboratory testing, ensuring product consistency, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Lab Technician reports to the Manager of Quality and Process Improvement.Comprehensive Benefits Program:Employee benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Disability BenefitsHighly competitive 401(K) plan; 3% employer contribution and an employer match of 100% on the first 6% of the employee contributionsShift Requirement:This position is a 12-hour night shift role, supporting overnight production operationsFlexibility to work overtime as neededKey Responsibilities:The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform chemical and physical analysis on production and non-production samples using established procedures, including viscosity, thixotropic index, gel interval, gel peak, appearance, color, acid number, monomer content, water content, and specific gravityEvaluate in-process specifications and recommend formulation adjustments to production to achieve target product propertiesMaintain accurate and complete batch documentation, including process logs, charge sheets, rework documentation, specifications, and certificates of analysisSupport ordering, receiving, and shipment of raw materials and product samplesMaintain laboratory inventory and ensure adequate supply levelsPerform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipmentRecommend formulation improvements based on product history and performance trendsSupport SAP-related activities including data entry, inspection lots, and basic inventory transactionsAssist with quality control activities, including data tracking and small-scale development workSupport ISO 9001 requirements, including equipment calibration, internal audits, procedure updates, corrective actions, lot traceability, record retention, and customer complaint investigationsQualifications:Associate degree or coursework in a science-related field such as chemistry, materials science, engineering technology, or a related discipline preferred, but not requiredMinimum of 6 months of laboratory experience preferredWillingness and ability to work a 12-hour night shift scheduleStrong verbal and written communication skillsBasic proficiency with computers and standard software (SAP and Microsoft Office preferred)Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work overtime as neededALTA Performance Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
