About the Position Ratio is seeking a Senior Scientist I to join a growing team of scientists responsible for Synthetic Chemistry efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong background in organic synthesis, peptide synthesis, reaction design, and structure-activity relationship (SAR) exploration, with demonstrated experience advancing compounds from concept through optimization. The candidate will design and execute synthetic routes, analyze and interpret experimental data, collaborate cross-functionally with biology and analytical teams, and contribute to project strategy and timelines. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and be skilled in problem-solving, experimental design, data analysis, and clear scientific communication. Key Responsibilities * Design and execute synthetic routes for small molecules, peptides, or related compounds. * Perform multi-step organic synthesis and purification (Combi Flash, HPLC). * Characterize compounds using analytical techniques such as NMR and LC-MS. * Maintain accurate, detailed electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) records and documentation. * Analyze and interpret experimental data to guide next-step decisions. * Troubleshoot reactions and optimize conditions to improve yield, purity, and scalability. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., biology, Radio Chemistry and CMC) to support project goals. * Manage compound inventory and ensure proper storage and labeling. * Maintain laboratory safety standards and comply with EH&S regulations. * Present research findings in team meetings and contribute to written reports. * Stay current with relevant scientific literature and emerging methodologies * Qualifications * PhD. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related field with Postdoc experience or/and 2-4 years of relevant industry experience. * Experience with peptide synthesis and/or solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). * Proven track record The annual base salary for this role is expected to range between $145,000.00 and $165,000.00. This range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, work experience, skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
