Mission City Community Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization of multiple clinics operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center. We are dedicated to serving low income families in the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles and San Bernardino areas. We are committed to providing high quality care in the following areas: Adult, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Dentistry, Health Education, and Mental Health. Position: Pediatrician Position Status: Part-Time 2-3 days per week (may consider 4days for full-time status) weekday hours: 8a-5p includes Saturday hours: 7:30a-4p Job Location: North Hills/Panorama City (SFV Clinics) We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a supportive and collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-established practice committed to delivering exceptional pediatric care. Responsibilities: * Treatment of persons throughout the life span (infancy through geriatrics). * Works within Scope of Practice and performs functions outlined in accordance with their credentialing and privileging requirements. * Performs record keeping functions in accordance with program policies. * Maintains patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records. * Attends general/medical staff meetings. * Completes all training as required/assigned. * Demonstrates proficiency with electronic health record as appropriate to position. * Performs all duties in accordance with current accepted medical practices and procedures. * Conducts physical assessments, initial and follow-up assessments for acute and chronic medical condition. * Collects and documents electronically comprehensive medical and social history to include a review of all body systems. * Performs physical assessment in correlation with historical findings, records preliminary objective findings. * Acts as a consultant for mid-level providers and/or registered nurses, providing oversight and direction. Incumbent will provide input for the performance ratings of nurses and mid-level providers. * As the licensed provider, the incumbent provides clinical oversight. It is the incumbent's responsibility to consult with other health care providers to provide training and mentoring and to be directly involved with the evaluation and treatment of severely ill and medically complex patient care problems. Is responsible for providing direct patient care. * May be required to see patients who are not in the category of his/her expertise, but within his/her scope of practice. * Assures proper maintenance of medical records, preparation of reports, etc., as related to the area of responsibility. Makes recommendations on matters of policy, procedures, training, personnel, and equipment as related to specific area of responsibility. * Participates actively in Health Services medical in-service programs. Assists with training for mid-level practitioners, nursing staff, support services personnel, and peer professional staff to include but not limed to a comprehensive health assessment. * Flexible and able to adapt to sudden changes in schedules and work requirements. * Will comply with local, state, federal laws, rules and regulations and MCCN policy and directives. Qualifications: * Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program * Current License in State of California as a Pediatrician Physician * American Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics * Current DEA * Bilingual in Spanish (medical ok) * Continuous CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) * Minimum of one year of clinic experience preferred * Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills * Willing and able to take on increasing responsibility with time * CHDP and Medical Knowledge * Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community * Essential Functions: * Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language environment and able to utilize interpreter services to complete assigned duties if not fluent in a language. Full-time 30+hrs/wk benefits include: Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance. Vacation, Sick, Holiday pay, and all other benefits mandated by law.
