TITLE: PSYCHOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS: * MN Licensed School Psychologist. * Proficiency in selecting, conducting and creating evaluation reports, interpreting data and state criteria for special education eligibility. * Excellent knowledge of special education laws and regulations. * Knowledge of evidence-based interventions, including implementation integrity and fidelity. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services and Building Principal JOB GOALS: To provide a variety of psychological services to students and educators across the district. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Evaluating and report on students' functioning and needs (intellectual, academic, social/emotional/behavioral, adaptive) using both formal and informal procedures. * Follow all due process procedures specific to evaluations. * Serve on the building Problem Solving Team (PST), as needed, to provide interpretation of findings, plan interventions, and provide adherence to the PST process. * Serve on the building Child Study Team (CST), as needed, to provide interpretation of findings, recommendations, and adherence to due process procedures. * Confer, advise, and problem-solve with individuals and groups regarding educational, behavioral, and mental health concerns relating to specific students or to systems-level (school-specific or district-wide) problems * Participate in IEP meetings as needed. * Serve as the primary interpreter for state eligibility criteria for the IEP team regarding initial evaluations. * Provide recommendations and participate in placement decisions in developing IEPs, as needed. * Demonstrate skill and understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies and skill in developing positive behavior intervention plans. * Participate in crisis intervention teams, as needed. * Provide education and training regarding psychological and child development issues for individuals or groups, as needed. * Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
