Apply Description PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for FoundCare's pediatric department, guiding the development and expansion of high-quality, evidence-based pediatric services across the organization and into the broader community. The Pediatric Medical Director oversees clinical staff, drives program development, and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, while serving as a key liaison between providers, administration, and community partners to advance pediatric care and improve patient outcomes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Clinical Leadership * Provide clinical leadership on projects, programs, and services toward building a Pediatric center of excellence and aimed at expanding pediatric care within FoundCare health centers and the community, including: * Complex pediatric medical care (working with Care Coordinators) * Adolescent medicine * Expansion of behavioral health Integration (working with Chief of Behavioral Health) * Oversee the delivery of pediatric clinical services to ensure safe, high quality, patient centered care. * Collaborate with other departments, teams, and leaders (e.g. Operations, Practice Managers, Medical Leadership Team, CEO) in the creation, implementation, and promotion of pediatric programs and services. * Provide direct patient care as appropriate to maintain clinical competency. * Provide oversight to pediatric medical providers. * Serve as a liaison to outside agencies regarding creation and promotion of pediatric programs and services. * Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives. * Support integration of behavioral health, care coordination, and specialty services for pediatric populations. Clinical Duties * Provide direct patient care (in-person, telephonic, telehealth visits) as part of pediatric care team. * Deliver pediatric primary care, including same-day/sick care, well child care/preventative care, chronic disease management, etc. * Maintain a productivity rate of 21 patients per day. Operational Management * Manage daily operations of the pediatric department, including staffing, scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation. * Collaborate with administrative leadership to develop and manage departmental budgets. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies, including documentation standards and regulatory requirements. * Oversee onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of pediatric providers and clinical support staff. Program Development * Identify opportunities to expand pediatric services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and specialty programs. * Lead initiatives to improve access, patient experience, and health outcomes. * Support community outreach, partnerships, and health education efforts targeting pediatric populations. Quality & Compliance * Monitor quality metrics, patient safety indicators, and performance benchmarks. * Lead quality improvement projects and participate in organizational committees. * Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and best practices in pediatric care. Team Leadership & Collaboration * Foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive team environment. * Provide mentorship and guidance to pediatric clinicians, residents, and medical students. * Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, behavioral health, social work, and administrative staff. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Comprehensive clinical knowledge of pediatric medicine, including primary care, preventive care, chronic disease management, and adolescent health, with demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into clinical leadership and program development. * Ability to work independently. * Ability to lead change, manage competing priorities, and support staff development. * Ability to orally communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter. * Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services. * Ability to review, understand and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature. * Strong organizational and team-building skills. * Familiarity with EMR systems and data-driven decision making. * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use logic and reasoning to evaluate options and make sound decisions. * Proficiency in PC-based software and electronic medical systems. * Clear understanding that FoundCare, Inc., provides information on educating individuals about safer sex practices, which could include but not be limited to exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities, as part of the agency's mission in the prevention and transmission of HIV disease. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. * Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds or less. * Full range of body motion required. Position requires reaching, bending, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and sight. * Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. * Ability to utilize standard precautions to prevent transmission of diseases acquired by contact with blood, body fluids, non-intact skin, and mucous membranes. * Use standard office equipment and technology, including computers, telephones, and clinical systems, in the course of daily duties. * Ability to perform duties in outpatient, inpatient, or mixed settings, depending on organizational structure. * Ability to travel to other FoundCare locations and perform job duties. * Ability to travel to other locations to attend meetings, workshops, and seminars, plus travel to other FoundCare departments and FoundCare conference rooms. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Possession of an MD or DO degree from an accredited university. * Board certification in Pediatrics. * Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida. * Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical pediatric experience. * Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care. * This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience in a leadership position. * Experience in community health, outpatient pediatrics, or integrated-care settings.
