Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist in Redlands, CA

A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available on a per diem basis to cover a two-week vacation period starting after April 19th. This role supports an 18-bed Med-Surgical unit and a 10-bed Emergency Department in a community hospital located in a scenic mountain town approximately 75 miles from Los Angeles. Key responsibilities include verifying and reviewing medication orders for accuracy and patient safety, compounding sterile medications (IV admixtures and unit dose), responding to emergency codes as needed, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The pharmacist will also monitor medication therapies and collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff. Additionally, the role may require filling Pyxis systems at two local family health centers. Hazardous or chemotherapy drug handling is not required at this site. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend and after-hours on-call duties (although calls are uncommon). The candidate will work as the solo pharmacist on-site, supported by a pharmacy technician available full-time during the contract period to assist with inventory and data entry.
