About the Opportunity: Becton Dickinson [BD] is hiring multiple Lab Operation Technicians to work at our Torrey Pines Laboratories near UC San Diego. Become a part of our Covid19 response team! Responsibilities: • Perform routine laboratory duties and operate Reel-to-Reel equipment designed for applying diagnostic antibody solutions to test strip material. • Monitor & adjust optical inspection systems to ensure proper material deposition to media. • Build devices to support Quality Control and R&D. • Record equipment daily readings, function checks and accurate completion of QA Documents [batch records, SOPs, training records]. • Perform & document periodic preventative maintenance of equipment. • Maintain necessary workplace/station organization of tools, supplies and paperwork utilizing 5S methodology. • Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures. Requirements: • Associates Degree in Biological Sciences, Trade School Certificate, or equivalent preferred • Previous lab experience and equipment operation a plus, but not required • Familiarity with general lab personal protective equipment and practices • Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment • Willingness to work flexible hours, especially during training • Able to perform accurate math calculations • Ability to follow directions About BD: BD is a global medical technology company that is advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care.
