About the Position This opportunity is within a well-established, four-physician urology practice that has been serving the Virginia Peninsula since 1997. The group is part of a large, physician-owned multispecialty organization with a long-standing presence in southeastern Virginia, known for its stability, collaborative culture, and strong provider-led governance model. The broader organization includes a wide range of specialties, allowing for seamless care coordination and a consistent referral network across the region.Candidates must have prior urology experience. Practice Overview Four board-certified urologistsOne experienced nurse practitionerCoverage across two local hospitalsLarge and well-established regional referral baseNearly 30 years of continuous service to the communityThe practice remains a primary destination for urologic care on the Peninsula, supported by strong relationships with referring providers and the surrounding healthcare system. Role Structure This is a primarily outpatient role with a structured five-day workweek, complemented by shared inpatient responsibilities, including hospital rounding and consultations. Key Responsibilities Evaluation of new urology patientsFollow-up care for established patientsManagement of a wide range of general urologic conditionsShared inpatient rounding responsibilitiesCoordination of care between hospital and clinic settingsProviders typically see 20+ patients per day, with a balanced mix of new and follow-up visits.No call responsibilitiesClinic hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PMDedicated medical assistant assigned to each providerThis structure supports an efficient workflow and promotes strong work life balance. Independent Clinical Role This position is designed for an experienced provider seeking autonomy within a collaborative specialty setting.Providers are encouraged to build and manage their own patient panel rather than working exclusively within a physician s schedule. You will function as an integrated member of the team with the flexibility to develop your own clinical approach and patient relationships.
