Job DescriptionMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areasPerforms procedure audits for quality improvement analysisProperly identifies and explains procedure to patientFollows policy/procedures related to lab work and lines (central, peripheral)Starts IV access according to standard procedure and injects contrast media under the direction of a physicianPrepares/positions patient for CT proceduresInstructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties as neededEnsures proper safety standards are metAssists in maintaining supply inventory Participates in on-going service and process improvement effortsResponsible for patient safety and comfort while in CT. This includes adhering to the ALARA guidelines, established dose parameters within the machine, and other comforting measures as well as proper communication throughout the exam to ensure the customers' needs are met.
