We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Tacoma, WA where you'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.Current Washington state license in good standing.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verification required. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable only if accompanied by Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) as specified by client. (Preferred: CRT candidates may be considered if NPS documented.)Neonatal Respiratory experience required, including NICU and delivery room experience.Experience with delivery room procedures and Bubble CPAP required.Experience running blood gases and performing EKGs required.One year experience as an RRT or equivalent neonatal specialty experience preferred.Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program). Verification of required certifications must be provided.Experience using EPIC charting system preferred.Ability to assist with intubations in neonates. Travelers required to assist rather than intubate independently.Assignment DetailsFacility type: Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).Shift: Nights.Shift hours: 1800-0600 (12-hour night shifts).Schedule pattern: Every other weekend (EOW) and weekend requirement every other weekend.Orientation: Department-specific orientation provided. Orientation hours: 12.Standby call: May be required when census is low. Call response time: 30 minutes.Floating: No floating to other facilities required.Charting system: EPIC.Personal protective and health requirements: COVID-19 vaccination required by facility.Equipment familiarity required: Drager ventilators, Bubble CPAP, Fisher & Paykel 850 HHFNC.Location HighlightsTacoma, WA offers convenient access to outdoor recreation and cultural attractions.
