The position will be the liaison between the University Health and Safety Department, Facilities Management Department and Housing. This position will review current processes for compliance, recommend future changes, implement adopted changes, monitor and report on overall effectiveness of programs. This position will be the key leadership position to ensure a safe healthy work environment and living environment for our occupants. This position will help with internal projects that are completed by our staff, contractors, facilities management or a combination of work forces. This position will head up on-site investigations for indoor air quality issues or other HAZMAT issues to determine root cause and remedial action. This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies.Primary Duties Include• Provide the leadership for investigating indoor air quality (IAQ ) issues, testing, remedial program, and reporting.• Create new or modify existing processes and standard operating procedures (SOP ) to develops and implement health emergency response plans to guide the department in responding to disease or emergency health issues found in residential populations, including the logistics and assets required.• Acts as Housing Department's asbestos, lead, and silica program manager.
