This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly specialized practice, supporting patients through every step of their care. * Performing patient work-ups (medical history, visual acuity, photography, color vision tests) * Decontaminating and processing equipment and instrumentation * Assisting as surgical assistant or circulating scrub technician during procedures * Establishing and maintaining electronic patient charts Salary Range: $34.67-45.74 Hourly This position will primarily work in Pasadena, but is required to travel to multiple Doheny Eye clinics as needed. Job Qualifications Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Required: * Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, basic ocular anatomy, basic ocular physiology, common visual pathologies. * Knowledge of common ophthalmic medication. * Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and sterilization techniques. * Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring and recording visual acuity, performing lensometry, refractometry, applanation tonometry, topography, visual fields, optical coherence tomography, fundus photos, biometry, fluorescein angiograph, B-Scans, Immersion A-Scans, proficient in Ellex Cubed * Ability to organize and prioritize duties to maximize clinic efficiency. * Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy workload. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to initiative and work on a self- directed basis with limited supervision. * Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of patient testing equipment. * Responsible, with ability to work in a detailed oriented manner. * Ability to learn state of the art diagnostic equipment and order instruments and supplies. * Ability to travel to multiple UCLA Health clinics as needed. Preferred: * 3+ years of experience working in the ophthalmic setting with patients and ophthalmic imaging devices. * Multilingual. * Experience with electronic health records (Epic). * Exposure to research imaging.
