Job Captain - Mission Critical

Overview:Exercises independent judgment in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, and solves problems when encountered. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of architectural principles, practices and procedures to complete assignments with originality and ingenuity. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to project and design solutions.Responsibilities:Modifies or creates implementation documents and complex drawings with limited guidance, applying architectural techniques and procedures requiring independent judgmentMay coordinate design group interaction both internally and externally, including assisting with consultant team work sessionsManages project work of the architectural team as appropriatePerforms design computations and document preparation, including maintaining the information flow to the project team, to reflect the design intent in implementation documents and coordinating with consultants to confirm systems workAssists with review, modification and coordination of implementation documents prior to issue, including collaborating to validate that code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are metAssignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposesExecutes deliverables according to scope of services and HKS standards, best practices, and quality expectationsMay attend client or consultant meetingsParticipates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesTravel may be requiredQualifications:Education and ExperienceAccredited professional degree in Architecture or related fieldTypically 4+ years of experienceLicenses and CertificationsActively pursuing Architectural RegistrationSustainable design accreditation preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced - expert-level experience, knowledge or skillsIntermediate - experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or workBasic - familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and may perform elementary functions depending on roleAdvanced experience and skills in Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam requiredIntermediate skills in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Twinmotion, Enscape or other visualization tools requiredAdvanced skills in MS Office Suite requiredIntermediate skills in Illustrator and InDesign required; basic skills in Photoshop requiredBasic familiarity with computational design and parametric modeling requiredBasic familiarity with energy modeling requiredAdvanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines requiredIntermediate knowledge of architectural building systems requiredAdvanced knowledge of materials, construction techniques, building codes, QA/QC and specification process and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents requiredAdvanced ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents requiredAdvanced experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy requiredAdvanced presentation, graphic and visualization skills to communicate ideas requiredIntermediate organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time requiredIntermediate ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing requiredIntermediate ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions requiredBasic ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment requiredIntermediate ability to work on multiple projects at the same time requiredIntermediate ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality required#LI-KT1If you currently work for HKS, please submit your application via the Internal Careers Portal.HKS is an EEO/AA Employer: M/F/Disabled/Veteran
