About the Job MedStar Health Nursing Benefits * Nationally recognized nurse wellbeing resources * Comprehensive health benefit plans * Generous paid time off and flex scheduling options * Retirement plans with match * Tuition assistance to advance your education * Relocation assistance up to $5,000 * Free parking for associates Post Operative Care Unit (PACU) Summary * 22 bed Phase I & Phase II PACU * Variety of Post-Op patients (Ortho & neuro surgery, OB/GYN, Plastics, Gender Affirmation, Robotics, everything except open heart and transplant cases) * Excellent teamwork and fun environment * Lower turnover * Part of our state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, which opened in 8/2020 General Summary of Position * Member of the MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team * Supports and collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) in providing leadership and oversight for the OR * Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel * 15-20 direct reports * Assists DON with time cards, annual and mid-year reviews, schedules, huddles/meetings, bed needs, staff collaboration * Direct relationship with anesthesia team and surgeons * Schedule: Full Time Days, five 8s or four 10s, Monday - Friday Qualifications * BSN from an accredited School of Nursing required; MSN preferred. * 3-5+ years of PACU RN experience required; 2 years of leadership/management experience strongly preferred. * Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS preferred. This position has a hiring range of USD $52.50 - USD $77.63 /Hr.
