Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Sylvania, OH. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment and care for patients with breathing disorders. You will provide intensive respiratory care, patient transport, ventilator management, and related procedures within scope of practice and facility policy.Minimum Requirements:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.Current Ohio state respiratory care license in good standing.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.Minimum one year experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting.BLS certification required.Experience with mechanical ventilators, both invasive and non-invasive, and ventilator setup and monitoring.Proficiency with arterial puncture and blood gas sampling.Ability to perform tracheostomy care, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and endotracheal tube insertion/removal using free-hand or video laryngoscope techniques.Experience with 12-lead EKG acquisition and basic arrhythmia recognition.Familiarity with pulmonary function testing (NIF, VC) and oximetry/capnography monitoring.Ability to assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and chest drainage devices where applicable.Demonstrated documentation skills for respiratory records, charging, and handoff communication.Preferred: ACLS certification.Assignment DetailsFacility Type: Hospital.Shift Name: Days.Shift Details: Day 3x12.Duration: 13 week assignment.Positions Available: 1.Location Highlights Explore Sylvania, OH, with access to regional recreation and a suburban lifestyle. Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans. Explain purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients and provide necessary education upon discharge. Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation. Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, routine review of chest x-rays, 12-lead EKG, pulmonary function studies, and assist with bronchoscopy and chest tube procedures as indicated. Perform tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines, and insertion/removal of endotracheal tubes. Set up, test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilators. Record treatment information and patient response, communicate with physicians, complete shift-to-shift handoffs, and maintain accurate therapy charging.
