Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Columbia, Missouri

An opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge to support an inpatient behavioral health facility. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in an acute care or behavioral health setting who can step in quickly to provide leadership and ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Location: St Charles, MO Type: Contract Duration: Approximately 4 weeks, with the assignment concluding upon the hiring of a permanent Pharmacist in Charge Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid meal break) Key Responsibilities: Serve as the pharmacist in charge, overseeing daily pharmacy activities and compliance with regulatory standards Manage medication repackaging and dispensing procedures, utilizing systems such as Milt/Medi-dose or HCL Operate and maintain automated drug dispensing machines, including loading and running restock reports Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support medication management in a behavioral health inpatient setting Preferred Qualifications: Active Missouri pharmacist license Experience working with Omnicell automated dispensing systems Familiarity with medication repackaging processes and automated machine operations Strong organizational skills and attention to pharmacy regulatory compliance This contract assignment offers the chance to apply leadership skills in a dynamic clinical environment, providing critical pharmacy services during a transitional period.
