Position Summary Responsibilities Position Summary Receives direct supervision by a preceptor to develop technical and professional skills through observation and direct demonstration. Essential Functions • Conducts CT scans to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation. • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices; manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation. • Utilizes critical thinking skills to recognize patients' physical limitations and age-specific needs. • Delivers appropriate patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. • Identifies, acquires, and documents pertinent patient history relative to procedures. • Develops ability to assess radiographic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relative anatomy is demonstrated. • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross-contamination of communicable disease. • Develops proficiency in contrast material and adverse reactions to contrast media. • Learns the necessary skills required of a licensed Orlando Health Cat Scan Technologist to be equipped to work independently upon graduation and successful completion of the introductory period. • Develops the necessary skills to utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems (EPIC, PACS) effectively and accurately. • Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state,and local standards • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements Qualifications Education/Training. • Must be enrolled in the senior year of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited school. • Must have pre-approval from the school to apply for the internship.
